People, yes, this is what it looks like on the road at Cabin Creek:
But this, THIS, is what it looks like above the Y!
And this is a report from Nick today, with tidings of good cheer.
As for skiing, it's great up top about .4 mile from the Y. Only 1 bare spot for about 40ft on that southern facing corner. ( I think we can push ( or shovel ) snow in there for the weekend maybe ) Still shows 25 inches on the snow pole and looks like a solid foot on most of the trail. It's good snow from where we started the scramble last year.
Yes, you have to hike a little to get to it, but we're athletes after all, and a thing is even more precious when you have to work for it instead of having it handed to you. So go get some! We have the whole summer ahead of us for biking and running and whatever, so don't throw in the towel yet. I'm out of town this weekend, but next weekend, you'd better believe I'm putting on my running shoes, throwing my ski boots in my pack, and hiking up to heaven. See you there!
Easily good skiing through the month and probably most of next month. We will start grooming early evening to preserve what snow we have so best skiing probably 10-11am when it starts to soften.
