The snow has melted, and now we can see all the junk that lazy, or maybe just forgetful, people have left behind. Garbage doesn't belong in the forest or on our ski trails, so the Forest Service has organized a big work day this Saturday for us to meet at our favorite snow parks to clean them up and, as an added bonus, enjoy sunshine and fresh air in the mountains with fellow skiers.
Karen from the CCWRC sends us the details, so dig out your grubbiest clothes (especially gloves) and plan to join us!
"This Saturday is Sno-Park clean up day. Between 9 and noon. This is an informal activity. Kongsbergers Ski Club works on Cabin Creek, Mountaineers is working on the 420 road out of Crystal Springs, Snoqualmie Nordic works out of Hyak, and NWDSA helps out at Gold Creek. Generally speaking. The snowmobilers help out on Gold Creek too - mostly at the end of the road."
You don't have to be affiliated with any of these organizations; you just have to want all the little creatures of the forest to have a clean and nice place to play this summer. Everyone is welcome to help, and the forest will thank you.
See you there!
