What I did tonight: left work a little after 7:00 and was roller skiing on the Ship Canal trail by 7:45. Forty minutes of double poling and single sticking in the cool gray evening, nobody else out there but a couple of dog walkers (hi, Ray and TJ!), a couple of skateboarders, and a bike train.
What I did not do tonight:
Dude! What made you think of doing this?
What I like the best, besides the sheer bad-assery of it, is the juxtaposition of crazy cajones with the wearing of a helmet. Because, you know, you could get hurt.
Nordic ski racing, training, and related adventures, out in the big blue world
Many people are better skiers, faster runners, stronger athletes. But me? I'm just digging the training, finding beauty and clarity where I can, and having a party with my life. I'm never going to win a race, but being strong and fluid and able to participate is where the fun begins, and that's the story of this girl's blog. Join me?
In Other Words
" The world is so big, and I am so small. A speck of dust across the ages, a thread of a story. Let's not forget the moment, fleeting as it is. It doesn't always have to add up to something bigger." ~Julie Zhou
"There's always next year, and there's always tomorrow, but best of all, there's today."
